Architectural Lighting Designer II - Visual Terrain Inc. - May 2017 - Present
Designed lighting for various permanent and semi-permanent architectural projects and installations throughout the world, under the supervision and guidance of senior and principal level staff.
Duties: Work with the principal and senior level design staff, architects, project managers, interior designers and other collaborators to envision, discuss, produce, and implement lighting designs for permanent and semi-permanent installations. Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, rep agencies, system integrators, and various other facilitators to research and develop the best solutions for installation. Taking into account space requirements, construction and facility codes, light levels, and artistic intent to create a cohesive design that highlights and transforms a space into a dynamic immersive experience. Producing and providing CAD plans, schedules, both 2D and 3D renderings, specification booklets, photometric studies, design narratives, and other design documentation to effectively communicate how to implement the design accurately. Traveling on-site to program, test, adjust, and implement the design and produce as-built documentation.

Freelance Theatrical Lighting and Media Designer
Designed lighting for various live productions throughout the southwest United States, ranging from local and regional theaters to semi-professional found space venues.
Duties: Work with the director, other designers, and collaborators to envision a design for the lighting of the piece, taking into account mood, form, color, practicality, budget, impact on the action of the piece, and the realities of the space. Communicate with the venue’s electricians to explain the intended design through drawings, drafting, and paperwork. During tech, build each lighting look to add interest and focus as prescribed by the action of the show and the vision of the Director.
